“All our dreams can come if we have the courage to pursue them.” – Walt Disney.

Welcome back, esteemed friends, to this week’s ATM [A Teaching Monday]! Last week, I promised to share a simple yet powerful acronym, DREAM, which will help you to live your dream and do life big. Today, I am thrilled to unveil this transformative guide that will propel you towards your dreams and beyond!

The DREAM Acronym:

•  Dream

•  Resilience Factor

•  Embrace Teamwork

•  Accountability Partnership

•  Mentorship Factor

D – Dream:

Everything starts with a dream. The journey to achieving greatness often begins with a dream. But a dream alone is not enough; it requires resilience, teamwork, accountability, and mentorship to transform that vision into reality.

Walt Disney once said, “If you can dream it, you can do it.” Allow yourself to dream big and visualize a future that excites and inspires you. Your dream is the blueprint for your journey; it’s the vision that will guide you through life’s challenges and triumphs.

A dream worth pursuing is a predictor and blueprint of a person`s purpose and potential. The billion-dollar question is, “What is a dream?” Sharon Hull defined a dream as, “The seed of possibility planted in the soul of a human being, which calls him to pursue a unique path to the realization of his purpose.”

That word, “seed of possibility” stood out to me as I marveled at the transforming power of a true dream when it is planted in the soul of a human being as we saw in Dr. Martin King Jr. and culminating in the launch of the civil right movement that put an end to racial inequality in the United States.

“I Have a Dream” is a public speech that he delivered during the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom on August 28, 1963. In the speech, Dr. King called for civil and economic rights and an end to racism in the United States. Delivered to over 250,000 civil rights supporters from the steps of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C., the speech was one of the most famous moments of the civil rights movement and among the most iconic speeches in American history.

When you leave your dream and don’t live it, you deny yourself the opportunity to do life big. You dim your world when you leave your dream, living your dream is what brightens your universe!

Here is my mentor, Dr. John Maxwell’s definition of a dream: “A dream is an inspiring picture of the future that energizes your mind, will, and emotions, empowering you to do everything you can to achieve it.” This is why everyone must find their dream and live it to experience real fulfillment in life and do life big!
