“For Mordecai was great in the king’s palace, and his fame spread throughout all the provinces; for this man Mordecai BECAME INCREASINGLY PROMINENT.” – Esther 9:4 New King James Version.

“David GREW INCREASINGLY POWERFUL, and the Lord of heavenly forces was with him.” – 1 Chronicles 11:9 Common English Bible.

God’s Heart Grieves When We Settle for Less

One of the things that grieves God’s heart is seeing His children settle for less—living life small when His desire is for us to LIVE LIFE BIG. Jesus came not just to save us, but to give us a life full of abundance, overflowing with joy, peace, and purpose. As John 10:10 (Amplified Bible, Classic Edition) declares, “…I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).”

The Common English Bible echoes this promise: “…I came so that they could have life—indeed so that they could live life to the fullest.” And in God’s Word Translation, Jesus says: “…I came so that My sheep will have life and so that they will have everything they need.” God doesn’t want His people living small or barely scraping by; He desires that we LIVE LIFE BIG, enjoying the fullness of His blessings. This is God’s ultimate plan for us—abundant life!

Jesus Reveals God’s Heart

Hebrews 1:3 (Easy English Bible) reminds us, “The Son [the Lord Jesus] shows us completely what God is like…” By looking at Jesus, we are convinced of God’s earnest desire for us: to live life in its fullest expression. God desires each one of His children to have everything they need and to LIVE LIFE BIG!

This is why our desires are so powerful. Proverbs 10:24 (NKJV) promises, “…the desire of the righteous will be granted.” When our desires align with God’s, there is no limit to the abundant life we can experience.

The Power of Desire: What Are You Reaching For?

The story of Lazarus, the beggar, found in Luke 16:20-21 (NKJV), reveals a profound lesson about desire: “…there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, full of sores, who was laid at his gate, desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man’s table…” All Lazarus ever desired were crumbs, and that’s exactly what he got crumbs, after struggling with the dogs. These dogs weren’t beloved pets; they were despised scavengers. Lazarus’ desires were limited, and he settled for far less than God intended. In contrast, when our desires are aligned with God’s will, we can LIVE LIFE BIG, fulfilling His grand purpose for us.

Ever-Increasing Prominence: God’s Will for You

Living life to the fullest isn’t just a nice idea—it’s God’s plan! Ever-increasing prominence is what He has destined for His children. As we see in Esther 9:4 (NKJV): “For Mordecai was great in the king’s palace, and his fame spread throughout all the provinces; for this man Mordecai BECAME INCREASINGLY PROMINENT.” Likewise, 1 Chronicles 11:9 (Common English Bible) says of David, “David GREW INCREASINGLY POWERFUL, and the Lord of heavenly forces was with him.”

God wants you to grow in prominence, power, and influence! [To be continued next week].
