“Then the Lord said to Moses, “Quit praying and GET THE PEOPLE MOVING! FORWARD, MARCH!” – Exodus 14:15 Living Bible.

Embracing God’s Vision: A Journey of Discovery
As promised from last week’s ATM, this week, we focus on discovering and embracing God’s vision for your life. When I gave my life to the Lord Jesus Christ about 30 years ago, one of the most important subjects to me—next to the baptism of the Holy Spirit—was uncovering His vision for my life. This pursuit ignited a hunger in me for books, articles, and messages on vision from credible patriarchs and matriarchs of faith. It was no wonder that during an Easter break 29 years ago, specifically on April 10, 1996, while I was a first-year medical student at the premier University of Ibadan, Nigeria, I encountered God in a life-changing moment as He revealed His vision for my life.
A Divine Vision Versus Human Ambition
God’s Word declares in Proverbs 29:19 (The Voice), “Where there is no vision from God, the people run wild, but those who adhere to God’s instruction know genuine happiness.” Unlike ambition, which is of man, a true vision is from God. The Apostle Paul referred to this as the heavenly vision in Acts 26:19, indicating that what comes from heaven is above all else.
The Supernatural Realm of Vision
VISION, according to the Scriptures, is described in 1 Corinthians 2:9 (Amplified Bible): “Things which the eye has not seen, and the ear has not heard, and which have not entered the heart of man; all that God has prepared for those who love Him.” This vision transcends natural understanding—it is not accessible by the natural man (see 1 Corinthians 2:14) nor by might or power (see Zechariah 4:6). It is revealed only through the help of our Helper, the Holy Spirit.
“For God has unveiled them and revealed them to us through the [Holy] Spirit; for the Spirit searches all things diligently…” — 1 Corinthians 2:10-12 (Amplified Bible).
Receiving God’s Vision: Ask, Seek, and Knock
Discovering God’s vision for your life requires the help of the Holy Spirit. It can be received through earnest inquiry, as emphasized in the Scriptures:
“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.” Matthew 7:7 (NKJV).
“For I know the plans and thoughts that I have for you… plans to give you a future and a hope.” Jeremiah 29:11 (Amplified Bible).
“Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known.” — Jeremiah 33:3 (NKJV).
The examples of Apostle Paul (see Acts 9, 22, 26), Jeremiah (Jeremiah 1), and Ezekiel (Ezekiel 1) remind us that God’s vision can be delivered at God`s own instant as well, when God by Himself chooses to unfold His plan to you.
The Affordable Demand – Investing Quality Time With God
Receiving God’s vision demands patience and dedication. It requires investing quality time with God through prayer, worship, and fasting. As seen in Acts 13:2: “While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, ‘Set Barnabas and Saul apart for me. I want them to do the work for which I called them.’”
There is no price too high to pay for discovering, embracing, and pursuing God’s vision, for in its fulfillment lies your welfare and fulfillment. Matthew 6:33 NKJV says, “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.”
Stay tuned as we continue to explore how embracing God’s vision leads to a fulfilled and purposeful life. [To be continued next week].
