“Influence is our inner ability to lift people up to our perspective.”
Joseph Wong.
According to blogger Werner Geyser, an influencer is someone who has:
*The power to affect the purchasing decisions of others because of his or her authority, knowledge, position, or relationship with his or her audience.
*A following in a distinct niche, with whom he or she actively engages. The size of the following depends on the size of his/her topic of the niche.
Werner opined that over the last decade, we have seen social media grow rapidly in importance. According to the most recent statistics, the projected number of global social media users in 2023 is 4.89 billion, indicating a 6.5% rise from the previous year. Inevitably these people look up to influencers in social media to guide them with their decision making.
Whatever your vocation or aspiration, you can increase your impact on others by becoming a Positive Influencer. You can learn simple, insightful ways to interact more positively with others, and watch your personal and organizational success go off the charts.
With influence, you can achieve success at home, at work, and in every other area of life. These are the practical and easy to apply insights to everyday life that we will be learning in the next couple of weeks on ATM [A Teaching Monday].
Our focus in this series of teaching is to emphasize and encourage POSITIVE INFLUENCE and how to BECOME A POSITIVE INFLUENCER. The truth is that influence can be abused and used for a selfish advantage with a gross devastating effect on many innocent lives. Case in point is Adolf Hitler!
Adolf Hitler, the leader of Germany’s Nazi Party, was one of the most powerful and notorious dictators of the 20th century. Hitler capitalized on economic woes, popular discontent, and political infighting to take absolute power in Germany beginning in 1933. Hitler’s virulent anti-Semitism and obsessive pursuit of Aryan supremacy fueled the murder of some six million Jews, along with other victims of the Holocaust. After the tide of war turned against him, Hitler committed suicide in a Berlin bunker in April 1945.
I have been studying BECOMING A PERSON OF INFLUENCE by my mentor and America`s #1 Leadership Guru, Dr. John Maxwell, and his friend, Jim Dornan and much of what I will be sharing is what I have learned from these two great leaders and other valuable materials in this area.
With the simple acronym I-N-F-L-U-E-N-C-E-R, we will be learning the unique qualities of A POSITIVE INFLUENCER: I – Integrity with people, N- Nurtures People, F – Faith in People, L – Listens to People, U – Understands People, E – Enlarges People, N – Navigates for People, C – Connects with People, E – Empowers People, and R – Reproduces other Influencers.
