“I will make them and the places all around My hill a blessing; and I will cause showers to come down in their season; there shall be showers of blessing.” – Ezekiel 34:26 New King James Version.

“I will make them and the places around My hill (Jerusalem, Zion) a blessing. And I will make showers come down in their season; there will be [abundant] showers of blessing (divine favor).” – Ezekiel 34:26 Amplified Bible.

The first quarter of the year has not been without its challenges, tests, and trials but more real are also the victories, testimonies, and triumphs. We can boldly declare like the apostle Paul in Acts 26:22 when he said, “Therefore, having obtained help from God to this day I stand…” [Acts 26:22 New King James Version].

How about April 2024? God`s Word declares that “I will make them and the places all around My hill a blessing, and I will cause showers to come down in their season; there shall be showers of blessing.” [Ezekiel 34:26 New King James Version]. April 2024 therefore is the month of SHOWERS OF BLESSING! By the grace of God and the help of the Holy Spirit, we will be exploring this all-important focus all through this month in this teaching.

What do the SHOWERS OF BLESSING represent and what is its significance? The showers of blessing symbolize repeated blessings bestowed by the Almighty. While the passage specifically refers to Israel, it conveys a divine principle applicable to believers throughout history. Here is its significance:

  1. Abundant Blessings: The Lord promises to shower His people with blessings. These blessings are not merely physical but also spiritual and emotional. They represent God’s favor, provision, and grace. [Psalm 5:12; 102:13-14 and 2 Corinthians 9:8-11].
  2. Divine Intervention: The showers of blessing signify God’s active involvement in the lives of His people. He intervenes to bless, protect, and restore them. It’s a reminder that our well-being depends not only on natural resources but also on heavenly favor. [2 Corinthians 3:5; Acts 14:17 and Psalm 126:1-6].
  3. Redemption and Restoration: While the context primarily addresses Israel’s restoration, it extends to all who trust in the Messiah (the Holy One of Israel). [Joel 2:21-27 and Malachi 3:6].
  4. Justice and Compassion: The passage, Ezekiel 34:26 also highlights God’s judgment against oppressors and those who exploit others. The Sovereign Lord will plead for justice and care for His flock. This is Divine Vengeance promised in Isaiah 63:4 Amplified Bible says, “For the day of vengeance [against ungodliness] was in My heart, And My year of redemption [of those who put their trust in Me—the year of My redeemed] has come.”

In summary, the showers of blessing represent God’s abundant grace, restoration, and divine care for His people. It’s a beautiful promise that extends beyond Israel to all who seek Him. [To be continued next week].
