“I will make them and the places all around My hill a blessing; and I will cause showers to come down in their season; there shall be showers of blessing.” – Ezekiel 34:26 New King James Version.

“Ask for rain from the Lord at the time of the spring rain. It is the Lord who makes the thunder clouds; And He will give them showers of rain, grass in the field to everyone.” – Zechariah 10:1 Amplified Bible.

Acts 14:17 New King James Version says, “Nevertheless He did not leave Himself without witness, in that He did good, gave us rain from heaven and fruitful seasons, filling our hearts with food and gladness.” I once shared this verse with a group of people and I got a shocking response from someone who at that moment was going through a challenging period of her life when God seemed to be far away and her faith in God seemed to be fading away.

The real conflict she experienced was about the goodness of God seen in the verse: “…HE [GOD] DID GOOD, He gave us rain from heaven [Showers of Blessing] and FRUITFUL SEASONS, filling our hearts with food and gladness.” She had a barrage of questions and became overwhelmed due to her present situation. Can circumstances change the integrity of God’s Word? Can our human experience make us begin to question the faithfulness of our ever-faithful God?

I once heard the founding Pastor of the largest Pentecostal Christian congregation in South Korea and probably in the world, Dr. David Yonggi Cho said the first time he heard Dr. Oral Robert said, “God is good” it destroyed his theology because Oral Roberts believed in the goodness of God and often proclaim it in his teachings. The theology of Dr. Cho became straightened up after hearing Dr. Oral Roberts which later inspired and encouraged Dr. Cho to impact so many lives all around the world till he passed on to glory with the church he left behind following his legacy.

The goodness of God was not Dr. Oral Robert’s idea, it is God’s idea and it is still from now to eternity will remain His idea because He is the same yesterday, today, and forever [see Hebrews 13:8 and Malachi 3:6]. Psalm 145:9 Amplified Bible says, “The Lord is GOOD to ALL, And His tender mercies are over all His works [the entirety of things created].” God’s goodness is not the exclusive reserve of some, it is for ALL and His tender mercies are over the entirety of the things He created. Don’t because of any unpleasant experience doubt the goodness of God in your life!

I remember one of my senior colleagues when I was in medical school who failed his final examination and had to repeat the examination in three months. His present challenge made him lament and speak aloud to people around him that God had forsaken him! Three months later he repeated the examination and passed it. I was privileged to attend his celebration party. He was a different person, his mindset had changed, and he could see clearly that he was wrong.

What if some did not believe and were without faith? Do their lack of faith and their faithlessness nullify and make ineffective and void the faithfulness of God and His fidelity [to His Word]? By no means! Let God be found true though every human being is false and a liar, as it is written, That You may be justified and shown to be upright in what You say, and prevail when You are judged [by sinful men]. [Romans 3:3-4 Amplified Bible, Classic Edition]. The Showers of blessing is the expression of the goodness of God and it is the promise of love that cannot be nullified by any earthly circumstance. Don’t be moody with your faith, remain unshaken!

No matter your present situation, never lose sight of the Lord Jesus! So, do not throw away this confident trust in the Lord. Remember the great reward it brings you! Patient endurance is what you need now so that you will continue to do God’s will. Then you will receive all that He has promised. [Hebrews 10:35-36 New Living Translation].
