A common theme among successful people such as Steve Jobs, Jeff Bezos, Oprah Winfrey, Joel Osteen, and others is their dogged commitment to continuous learning, having specific goal, and a personal development plan. Every day, they work towards achieving their goals and personal development and learning. Jim Rohn said his mentor taught him something that defined his life.

He said his mentor told him: “Learn to work harder on yourself than you do on your job. If you work hard on your job, you’ll make a living. If you work hard on yourself, you will make a fortune!” If you want more out of life, you must become more.

What you achieve is great but who you become is much more laudable. Napoleon Hill said that “the person who stops studying merely because they have finished school is forever hopelessly doomed to mediocrity, no matter their calling.” A life of continuous learning is a must if you want to live a meaningful life. It has been said that success is the sum of small efforts repeated daily. What are some of the efforts successful people make daily?

They make time to learn daily by listening to motivational teachings and/or reading. Jack Canfield encourages people to read one book each week. This means 52 books in a year and 520 books in 10 years. He said that doing this would put anyone in the top 1% of their field. Another daily habit of successful people is that they are focused on their priorities.

They do not allow themselves to get distracted. They constantly keep their goals and strategic priorities within their sight and resist attempts to
derail them from their focus. The third daily habit successful people do is that they take definite action towards fulfilling their goals. Every day, they do at least one thing that will bring them closer to achieving their goals.

Call to action: Do you have your goals and a personal development plan written down? Do you review them daily? What actions are you taking daily towards achieving them?
