Flourishing During Famine Part 1!

“Then Isaac PLANTED [SEED] in that land [as a farmer] and REAPED in the same year a HUNDRED TIMES [as much as he had planted], and the LORD BLESSED and FAVORED him. And the man [Isaac] BECAME GREAT and GAINED MORE and MORE UNTIL he BECAME VERY WEALTHY and EXTREMELY DISTINGUISHED; he OWNED FLOCKS and HERDS and a GREAT HOUSEHOLD [with several servants], and the Philistines ENVIED him.” – Genesis 26:12-14 Amplified Bible.

“All their days are measured and known by the Eternal; their inheritance is kept safe forever. When calamity comes, they will escape with their dignity. WHEN FAMINE INVADES THE NATIONS, THEY WILL BE FED TO THEIR FILL.” – Psalm 37:18-19 The Voice Translation.

HELLO TREASURED FRIENDS and WELCOME into this week’s ATM (A Teaching Moment) Weekly in the precious name of our Lord Jesus Christ. He carried our sins in His body on the cross [willingly offering Himself on it, as on an altar of sacrifice], so that we might die to sin [becoming immune from the penalty and power of sin] and live for righteousness; for by His wounds you [who believe] have been healed. [First Peter 2:24 Amplified Bible].

We are in the third month of the year! The question is what are your expectations for this new year and what price are you ready to pay to make them a practical reality? What adjustments are you willing to make to make this year far better than last year? How do you intend to elevate your results this year compared to what you obtained last year?

Vern McLellan, an author, speaker, associate pastor, broadcaster, and musician said, “What the new year brings to you will depend a great deal on what you bring to the new year.” What new habits are you bringing into this new year that will make you become a better version of yourself and what support systems are you willing to put in place to help you to stay accountable? Author and Speaker, Anthony Robbins said, “Resolutions require only words. Results take action.” The success of resolutions depends on numerous factors such as the nature of the resolution, individual commitment, and external support.

Here is an interesting fact about the time limit to break resolutions. Studies suggest that around 80% of people fail to keep their New Year’s resolutions by mid-February. This is often referred to as the “two-week drop-off” period. Here is what American fitness expert and businesswoman, Jillian Michaels said about resolutions: “It’s not about perfect. It’s about effort. And when you bring that effort daily, that’s where transformation happens. That’s how change occurs.” Anyone can make resolutions at the beginning of the year, but it takes CHARACTER to carry out a good resolution long after the excitement of the moment has passed!

Never mistake your condition for your portion because WHAT IS WRITTEN concerning you in the World of God is SUPERIOR to WHAT IS HAPPENING around you in the world of men! The things that you see that scare you today are ONLY TEMPORAL [subject to change] but WHAT GOD HAS SAID and SETTLED IN YOUR FAVOR [Psalm 119:89; Jeremiah 29:11; and 2 Corinthians 1:20] are ETERNAL! [see 2 Corinthians 4:18] for we walk by faith, not by sight [living our lives in a manner consistent with our confident belief in God’s promises]. [2 Corinthians 5:17 Amplified Bible].

To THRIVE [Flourish during famine] you must be mindful of your COVENANT with God because it will be the DIFFERENCE MAKER and HUGE SEPARATOR between those who serve and fear God and those who don’t! [To be continued next week].
